About APSCI

Who we are

The Asia Pacific Society for Ceramic Implantology (APSCI) was established to connect clinicians throughout the Asia-Pacific region who share an interest in ceramic dental implants and the continuing evolution of implant dentistry.

Ceramic implantology is developing rapidly, with advances in zirconia materials, implant design, surface technology, digital workflows and restorative options. APSCI provides an independent platform where clinicians can learn from one another, critically evaluate emerging evidence and develop practical clinical skills.

APSCI is not aligned with a single implant system or philosophy. Our focus is education, evidence, collaboration and responsible clinical application.

Our purpose

• Educate: Provide clinically relevant education from foundational concepts through to advanced surgical and restorative workflows.
• Connect: Build a regional network where clinicians can exchange knowledge, cases and experience.
• Evaluate: Encourage critical discussion of emerging materials, techniques and scientific evidence.
• Advance: Support the development of ceramic implantology through education, research and collaboration.
• Promote Clinical Excellence: Encourage evidence-based planning, appropriate case selection and long-term patient-centred care.

Our vision

Our vision is for ceramic implantology to be understood as a scientifically evaluated component of modern implant dentistry, with clinicians able to make informed decisions between ceramic and titanium implant technologies according to patient needs, biology, prosthetic requirements, available evidence and long-term maintenance considerations.

Our role is not to suggest that one material is appropriate for every patient. Our role is to improve knowledge, clinical decision-making and treatment outcomes.

Evidence before hype

As interest in ceramic implants grows, APSCI believes education should remain grounded in scientific evidence rather than fear, marketing or unsupported claims. We encourage open discussion about both the advantages and limitations of ceramic implant systems.
